"Goblins 2008-2009. Greek Champions!
Greek Championship P.S.L. 2009 ended up with Goblins taking the title… Again!

Goblins, based in Thessaloniki, is one of the oldest speedball teams in Greece, playing from 2000. After winning many titles and championships, back in 2007 the team took a year off for various reasons. Some people thought the team was done, but the following year the original line-up rejoined to prove them wrong, by participating in the new Greek Championship, Paintball Super League (P.S.L.) Even though they had a rough start, they went on to win two legs of the four in total. Thus they won the Greek title for 2008 reminding to everyone that they are still alive and kicking!. They also won the first place in the first Play Paintball Series event, in Sofia, Bulgaria and the second place in the professional division of Balkans Cup (losing only to Ton-tons).

The year 2009 saw the Goblins increases their roster, reforming the team in order to play X-Ball. They recruited new talent from smaller, local teams and started practicing in Thessaloniki’s number one field, Dynamite Paintball. Meanwhile the P.S.L. took off, having almost fourty teams registering and playing in two divisions. Goblins participated in the Professional Division along with the best Greek teams. Again the start was rough for them, winning only the 3rd place in the first event. In the next events though they stepped up, but still weren’t able to reach the podium until the last two tournaments. Stunning everyone, they won both the last two legs, taking away the title of the best Greek team for 2009! They are also number one with two wins in the two first events in the Play Paintball Series 2009 in Bulgaria and are seriously heading for the title.

Goblin Facts!
-The original team name was S.M.K. from the Greek starting letters of the words “Vicious Goblins Syndicate”. Back then, team Vicious and Syndicate, were unheard of in Greece.
-With the exception of one tournament, the team finished either first or second in all Greek events until 2006.
-After 2007 the worst position they got in Greek tournaments was third.
-All Goblins shot either Ego or Geo markers throughout year 2009.
-All Goblins jerseys write “Talkers don’t know. Knowers don’t talk.”
-Goblins don’t talk.
