Pb.gr Tell us some things about you.

Well my for the past 25 years I worked in the Printed Circuit Board
industry and served as a manufacturing engineer. My fun time has always in making things so my biggest hobby was building high performance radio controlled sailplanes. I did not get into Paintball until I was 45 years old and it was because my kids kept telling me that it the funniest thing in the world to do.

Pb.gr How the idea did for Stinger Paintball Designs came up?

After the first time I finally broke down and took my son's paintball all I kept thinking was how much fun it was and how good I felt after a day of playing these games. From there I was hooked and started buying up the hot markers and gear. Then I found this clear Halo B hopper and realized that I could paint the inside and make it cool looking. After I did that and went to the field everyone was all over me and wanted one. So started SPD.

Pb.gr You are not alone in this business, are you?

Actually we have watched many other come and go in the Hopper and grip business, the bigger companies make some custom looking products but SPD is very different in that we try and make products that fit the individual person. I don’t think there are many other companies do this.

Pb.gr What kinds of people work for you?

All of us are Crazy! We have graphic designers, students and me. All love Paintball!

Pb.gr What services do you provide?

Our number one product is our grips, here we can just about place and design, image on these grip panels made to specific gun frames and you have a custom, personalized product. Pretty cool! Hoppers designs are also cool but limited because we do the inside. This help protect them from the rough paintball environment. Still pretty cool stuff.

Pb.gr I have recently ordered some grips(which I love by the way) for me, my friends and my team. How do you process the orders from ordinary players and/or custom team grips/loader shells?

Ordering is real easy, just start on the website and email us your ideas, if you have images or a graphic send it over to us. Most important remember it your design and made for you if you want. From there we will guide you on cost and time to deliver. Thanks for liking our products!

Pb.gr You don't charge anything besides the price for the grips/shells, why is that?

Typically we do not charge to help you get a design, it is part of our
value added service and what makes our business. The key is for the person to have ideas and provide us with enough information to make the product come to life.

Pb.gr And you have a very fast process timeline!

Practice! Lots of practice. It’s not easy.

Pb.gr Can you tell us something about the materials you use?

Some of the materials are made by us and other such as paints are purchased from the automotive industry. All our printing is done in 2400 DPI HD and we use only the best materials to make our products.

Pb.gr What is your personal favorite grip/shell, if there is one that is.

More than likely my favorite is the gold to blue fade with flame and
Eclipse logo that is on our front page of the website. I still have that gun its 05 and loud but it’s the fastest gun I have ever used.

Pb.gr What is the most awkward/weird thing that someone asked you to make?

Xrated photos, we have done Playboy bunnies and stuff like that but we don’t do the full nude shots. Just seems to not fit. Girls I understand, sexy if great, but full nudes just does not make it.

Pb.gr Now, something that is more paintball oriented. Do you play paintball? If so, what marker do you use? And, is it custom griped

Present markers are DM 8 and Nexus Ego, both have custom grips and hoppers.Great part is I can change grips anytime we make a new design. As for playing paintball, yes I do at 50 years old I still love to play and even though I’m to slow for hitting the snake I still do some damage in the back field. Love It!

Pb.gr We have some teams that attended some legs of the Millennium league through the past years. What do you think of Greek paintball?

Well I have to be honest and say I have heard a lot of good things about the Millennium series but not really anything specific about other nations. This interview has my interest going so I am going to have to look you guys up. Anyway you look at it I think paintball is a great way for nationalities to come together and be competitive and also get to know someone from far away. Making Friends and having fun doing something you love is the ultimate life experience.

Pb.gr Would you like to visit Greece someday for business or just
holidays?

No doubt! When do I leave? Since I have not been to Europe it is one of my ultimate goals. With all the history and traditions you folks have I would be grateful for that experience.
